Dead Ants

Create a playing area (large rectangle shape) marked out by cones, or can use lines on the court that will act as the playing boundary. By using cones, mark out a large cirlce in the centre of the playing area which will act as the "hospital". Select 2-5 taggers (depending on size of the group) that will wear bibs. The rest of the group can spread out inside the playing area excluding inside the hospital. When the coach/ref calls out "go", players will try and out run the taggers. If tagged, that player will then lay down on the ground and act "dead". These dead ants can be saved by a fellow ant that has not been tagged, however more than one ant may be required to save them. In order to save a dead ant, players must carry them from where they have been tagged to the hospital. Once placed inside the ring/cirlce or cones that player may re-join the game and run from the taggers. The game is over if all ants have been tagged, or the time limit is up.

RULES:

- Players moving the dead ant to the hospital can not be tagged
- When players are inside the hospital after rescuing a dead ant, they can not be tagged
- Four is the maximum number of players that can save a dead ant
- Ants are allowed to move anywhere they like, so long as they stay inside the playing boundary. If they run outside the area, they are "dead" (move back inside the playing area roughly where they ran out) and will need rescuing
