Warm-up Session
At this stage of the lesson, it is important to properly prepare our bodies for the physical demands of highland dancing. We will begin with a series of dynamic stretches and movements to increase blood flow, flexibility, and range of motion, ensuring that our muscles are ready for the dance steps ahead.
We will start with gentle neck rolls, shoulder shrugs, and arm circles to loosen up the upper body. Moving on, we will incorporate leg swings, hip rotations, and ankle circles to warm up the lower body and joints. Throughout the warm-up session, remember to breathe deeply and focus on connecting with your body.
As we progress through the warm-up exercises, pay attention to any areas of tension or tightness, and gently stretch those muscles to release any stiffness. By the end of this session, you should feel energized, focused, and primed for the intricate movements of highland dancing.
