Basketball - Shooting (BEEF)

Activities

The coach demonstrates the correct technique for shooting (BEEF). Balance (feet shoulder width apart, legs bent) Eyes (looking at hoop) Elbow (In front of body, 90 degrees) Follow through (elbow bent to straight, wrist flick).

Coach puts down enough spots for everyone under hoop (2-3m back from baseline), enough for the students to all have one each. Coach stands under hoop to retrieve ball. One at a time, student standing on their spot shoot using the BEEF technique. Once shot, the coach passes ball to next person in line for their turn. Once everyone has had their shot, players move along one spot/find a different spot to shoot from for another round.

Progressions:
Move spots back to make to harder. Make it a competition to see how many points individuals can get.
