Discuss the STEP model..
- Space: This is the area that the game is being played in. It can be changed by increasing or decreasing the size to make it easier or harder. If a large group is playing the game you may need to increase the size whereas a smaller group may need a decreased size. Making the area larger allows more room to move which can make the game easier to score points whereas making the area smaller can make it harder to score points.
- Task: This what is actually happening in the game or the aim of the game. The task can be changed to make the game easier or harder or to change the skill that is being worked on.
- Equipment: This is what is being used to play the game. You can modify both the type and the amount of equipment you use. For example you may use a smaller ball if you are working with little kids and if you are working with a large group you would need more equipment than if you were working with a smaller group.
- People: This is the amount of players involved. You can change the amount of people you have on a team. If you have a large group you may decide to divide people into two groups and have two games going so that players get more of a turn.
