Lesson Plan Overview

This is a chance to sell “Smartcoach”. The best way to do that is to show teachers & students how it works and also the benefits of having it. They will get to see how many lessons and activities are on this resource that they can use, and they will get a chance to create their own game and put it on smartcoach to show how easy it is to use. This will need to be displayed on a big screen so you can take everyone through a step by step process & students will need a tablet to practise on and to create their own games on.

Smartcoach Pals

This will need to be displayed on a big screen so you can take everyone through a step by step process & students will need a tablet to practise and create their own games on.

Teachers & Students will have a go at completing the following tasks as this will give everyone the best opportunity to learn and experience how smart coach works.

 

First task is to show everyone the layout of smartcoach, focussing on how to use the search bar to search for the following:

  1. how to search for activities,
  2. how to choose activites based on the equipment that they might have available,
  3. how to choose an activity, based on the year group you would like to deliver too.
  4. how to search by tags

The next step would be to show everyone how to find a whole lesson on a sport and to show that you can choose a lesson that suits the age or sport they are focussing on.

The next step is students get to look/discover smartcoach for themselves so we ask students to log onto smartcoach on their own devices on the PALS login.

Once logged in students will get 5 minutes to have a look at the lessons and activities they would like.

The next step is to make sure everyone understands how to search on smartcoach correctly by themselves, so we make it a race for the students to search and find a task in the following order:

1) Get them to search for a lesson (find a lesson on Ki O Rahi which has a game about tagging the pou

2) Find a lesson for a Year 3 class which involves dribbling a soccer ball

3) Find an activity that uses basketballs for equipment
