Before starting the next activity, get students to gather round and brielfy go over the technique used. The "ready" position steps to execute both forehand/backhand are as follows:

1) Use the handshake method to grip the handle of the Pickleball racquet. This will ensure the racquet is held correctly with flat surfaces facing forward
2) Position feet shoulder width apart for a stable and balanced stance with knees slightly bent
3) The racquet will start in a stationary state positioned by the hip
4) As the ball approaches, move opposite leg to hitting arm forward closer to the ball (assisst with generating power) and push racquet back to create a long swing which will increase power ("backswing")
5) Maintain eye contact with the ball as you strike it with the flat side of the racquet
6) Body should be following through to ensure the ball is travelling in the intended direction or at target

NOTE: The back hand uses the exact same start position, however the racquet will start on the opposite side of the body with the hitting arm crossing over the stomach in order for the racquet to be positioned by the hip.
